The Maxi Cosi Magellan Convertible Car Seat – A Review

by Nellie

Looking for a great quality carseat that will last for 10 years? Look no further, the Maxi Cosi 5 in 1 Convertible Car Seat is exactly what you need! Super easy to clean and gorgeous, you can use it for multiple kids from infant to ten years old! #carseat #infant

After doing this pregnancy thing twice before I’ve learned how to work smarter and not harder when it comes to baby gear. With my first baby I bought and was gifted ALL the things. I am almost embarrassed to say the types of gadgets that I had but once I had the baby I realized very quickly that I didn’t need half of the stuff that I had! To be honest, all you need for baby is diapers, blankets, washcloths, bibs, onesies/clothes and a really good carseat. Anything else is just icing on the cake.

Since I started blogging when my youngest child (now 6 almost 7) was in my stomach, I have been introduced to some amazing baby brands. The innovations over the past few years have be enormous and slightly overwhelming, but fantastic for new moms! One of the major developments is the convertible car seat! The fact that I can buy one car seat that can be used for ALL three of my children is not only clutch but super smart!

Magellan™ 5-in-1 Convertible Car Seat

If you have been reading Brooklyn Active Mama for a while, then you know that I have been high key obsessed with the Maxi-Cosi brand for a while now. From the Rachel Zoe Collection to their collaboration with Nuna a few years ago, I’ve always been in love with the chic style of the brand. The Magellan 5-1 Car Seat converts for newborns to 10 years old. They can carry from 5lbs to 120lbs! Considering my 9 year old is 66 pounds soaking wet, this car seat is coming JUST in time!

Check out some of the amazing features:

  • Starting with the soft to the touch, easy to remove infant pillow system, The car seat features self-wicking fabrics to keep baby dry and comfortable in those hot summer months, while warm and cozy the rest of the year. The fabrics have been tailored to fit but in case of those unwanted messes, they’re machine washable and dryer safe.
  • Adjustable torso side impact protection with 14-position headrest adjustment creates a customized fit for all growth stages; rear-facing, forward-facing, and even a belt-positioning booster.
  • 14-position headrest adjustments, featuring Air Protect Superior Side Impact Protection at every stage from birth to 10 years

  • Integrated belt lock-offs designed for easy and secure installation; One-click LATCH connectors install and release easily for an alternative installation.
  • 7-positions to choose from; HideAway harness allows seat to easily transform to booster car seat mode

  • Plus the premium, machine washable fabrics and padding provide the most comfort for your child during the ride.

The Magellan comes in 5 stunning colors, but I decided on the black (because children) but because the color was so sleek and pretty. Plus it would be best for me to keep it neutral because I plan to use it for my 6 and 9 year old boys as well.

Wow, how car seats have changed since I had my kids! Seriously, I kept having to buy new seats each stage and not just convert as they moved up to the next stage. So, I think this awesome as I spent a lot of money on switching out older seats for newer as they were no longer able to use the old ones as they grew out of them. That said, I agree also about babies not needing much and your list and yet I totally also fell into that trap with my first. But definitely also learned by the time by second came around, too 🙂

They have so many new things now that I just want to hold a baby to try them out. Key word hold lol

We have that car seat! You’re right – it’s crucial. I want to gift one to my sister as well, because she has two little ones.
