New York is known for having tons of pop up shops all over the city during the holiday season. This time, Target has completely outdone themselves with a larger than life wonderland featuring play areas, snacks, toys and so much more.
My family and I were invited to the Media preview night. Since the boys go to school in Brooklyn, my mom helped me out by bringing them to Chelsea for the event. When we arrived the boys were greeted with chocolate covered rice crispy treats from what was a life sized oven!
Before I could turn around the boys found this giant Christmas light switch–and as you can see the 3 year old needed a little help.
Then we went into the official Wonderland and that’s where all the real fun began!
First, there is the ball pit. Ball pits rank right up there with bouncy houses: once you get kids in them its impossible to get them out!
Next we went over to check out Santa. The boys had their own private conversation with Santa as the speakers were in the chair. The Santa was live on the TV (from a remote location–obviously The North Pole!) and remembered their names during the conversation. It was pretty awesome to have a Santa interaction without the long Santa-like lines.
By this time things were getting a little crazy and crowded so we started checking out the toys. Strategically placed around the Target Wonderland were the hottest toys for sale. (A lot of the toys from my gift guide too!) At the beginning of the store you get a necklace with a barcode on it. You can simply scan which items you want and check out towards the back of the store.
The toys are fully hands on–no packages so you can feel and test each toy before purchasing.
There were several celebrities in the building as well–I was so excited to be across from my very own Doogie Houser himself, Neil Patrick Harris and my favorite adorable mama Kristen Bell.
Speaking of adorable mamas, Crissy Teigen was also in the building looking beautiful as always in her maternity wear!
There were lots of appetizers and libations for the adults as well. I didn’t get to have any because my hands were full with the boys but they all looked delish!
If you are in NYC for the holidays I absolutely recommend the Target Wonderland at 70 10th Avenue. You can get your Christmas shopping done and exhaust your kids all at the same time. Win/Win!
