Women’s Health Magazine Hosts a Day of Healthy Living #WellThyHome

Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit the Hamptons for the second time in 2 months! It took 32 years to finally make it out there and just like that I’ve gone twice!

This time around was a all day health and wellness event thrown by Women’s Health Magazine. As a Women’s Health Action Hero I had to make sure that I was there because, you know, the Hamptons.

This time I got to take the bestie!! We would be spending the day together, which was nice because our crazy schedules don’t allow us to spend exclusive time together. ¬†The day would be filled with sessions and workout classes in the incredible home of Laura Frerer-Schmidt. ¬†Following by a party Under The Stars on the beach. I mean, this was set up to be the most perfect day ever.

We left the city at 7am and got to Montauk a little before 10. I quickly changed and joined the other upstairs for some rooftop yoga with Mandy Ingber. The sun was beaming hot but the great class (and view) made it worth it!

Next we had a great session on cleansing from Keri Glassman. For some reason when I think of cleansing I think about juices, cayenne pepper and whatever else crazy people do to get rid of waste in their bodies. I was happy to learn that her method included eating great tasting real vegetables and simple smoothies with powerful ingredients. The best part? We got to taste everything too!!

Next we had the opportunity to workout with the beautiful Heidi Powell in her Bootcamp. I didn’t participate because I couldn’t fathom doing a bootcamp in 90 degrees, but the class got it done!!

After that there was an awesome session on using awesome natural ingredients to make delicious food. We even got to eat it all for lunch afterwards!

Did I mention that Glam Squad was on site doing make up and hair? The bestie got her hair and makeup done and it was so pretty!

Remember when I ran the Run 10 Feed 10 Race with Women’s Health Magazine and BUILT WITH CHOCOLATE MILK? They are doing the race again this year!! The Under The Stars party was a fundraiser for RUN 10 FEED 10 at the beautiful Bridgehampton Tennis and Surf Club. There were plenty of amazing items for grabs at the silent auction and plenty of well known celebs from real housewives to talk show hosts to movie stars!

I’m so happy you made it to the Hamptons again!!…and with your bestie? What could be better? I can’t believe that BootCamp instructor was wearing tights!!?? OMG! And were they having class in front of a pool just to torture themselves more? Yikes!
Also – I have no clue who any of those women in the last 10 or so pictures are. Is that bad?

Alright now love that look on you! I love Heidi that show is the bomb and I always watch it with hopes that I will get up and really lose the weight *big sigh*

Aw, you and your bestie look so pretty!
I’ve only been to the Hamptons twice but I ache to go back.
I’m happy to read about more realistic cleansing. I’ve known way too many people who do the lemonade cleanse (cayenne paper, lemons, maple syrup) and I figure there has to be something better for me.

What a wonderful way to spend a day with your best friend! Love that the emphasis was on real and healthy foods. It drives me nuts to see so many powders and expensive, hard-to-find ingredients in ‘healthy’ recipes.
