Happy Friday Yall!!
How it going? Can you believe we only have a few weeks before the fall crazy begins?! I wish I could hide tucked inside of August forever!

My new work plant 🙂
Things are settling down in my new position, finally things are starting to make sense and I’m learning more and more everyday. It’s tough to come from a place where you KNOW your job forwards and backwards and start something new–it’s like school all over again.
Marathon Training
So last time we chatted I was completely overwhelmed by this little task called marathon training. I am happy to say that the level of freak out has reduced by 20%. This doesn’t mean that I have adjusted because I have NOT. I am just following the advice of my marathoner friends and taking it literally mile by mile.
Week 4
This week was supposed to be a rest week and I was SO happy for this week. Unfortunately rest week does not mean go take a nap for 7 days, it just means a little bit less mileage.
- Monday: 4 miles
- Wednesday: 5 Miles
- Thursday: (optional, I took the option to SLEEP)
- Saturday: 12 mile Long Run in Summer Streets
Total miles: 21
Summer Streets
I’ve written about Summer Streets a Lot over the years but honestly it really is my favorite time of the year. Quite honestly 12 miles around my neighborhood can be so boring–12 miles through the streets of NYC including crossing my beloved Brooklyn Bridge twice–now that is FUN. Even though the bestie isn’t marathon training she came out to train with me. <3
Week 5
This week the miles would be on fleek again. It was super intimidating but so far so good. I haven’t quite settled into my new job enough yet to get my miles in on my lunch break so I find myself shedding a thug tear every time I set my alarm for 4:30am.

running in the dark!
- Monday: 5 miles
- Wednesday: 5 miles
- Thursday: 5 miles
- Saturday: 13 mile long run scheduled for the last weekend of summer streets!
Total: 28 Miles
To say that I am nervous about this marathon is an understatement! I have great support from you guys, and everyone around me. I just have to keep taking it mile by mile. I have also scheduled races from now until the week before the big one to combat the long run boredom.
11 weeks left!! Omg!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you guys with the song that makes me SO happy every time I hear it! Enjoy your weekend!!

YAY!!!!! I’m cheering you on every step of the way!
Marathon, sounds like so much running! I signed up for my first mountain bike race. I’m scared! Excited too, but I’m clumsy so this could go either way.
Cheering you on from FL! 🙂 Good luck with the miles this weekend!
I’ve never heard this song but I am enjoying it a lot!
And how sweet that your bestie came out to train with you. Maybe she’ll get to a marathon after all! Maybe I will! (probably not)
Glad to know the marathon freak-out is reducing. You’ve run a LOT of miles, and you’re doing great – keep it up! (P.S. – I’ve never heard that song before. Totally love it)
