Weekly Wednesday Workout: Split Squats
This is a good one y’all! Today we incorporate cardio into our normal strength training schedule!

I don’t do these not super often but when I want to do extra cardio and not necessarily be on a machine this is a great option. What I love about this exercise is that you can get your heart rate going while toning your body! Squats in general spike my heart rate but split squats burns some serious calories. This doesn’t even need to be done on a step, try it on the floor first then graduate to a step!

These look awesome! I do squats while I brush my teeth (timed two minutes twice!). They definitely spike my heart rate. I think I’m ready to graduate to something a little more productive.

Oh yeah, quite the similar move in Les Mills BODYSTEP. I miss my regular step class!
They have like completely eliminated traditional step classes from my gym lineup. I don’t know why! They were my fav!!

I timed reading this blog all wrong because I was eating a cupcake while watching the video. Now I think I’ll try the split squat!

Those look pretty doable. I bet it’s deceiving though. I can imagine the soreness afterwards. I love feeling sore after a work out 🙂
