Weekly Wednesday Workout: Dumbbell Jack Knife
So it’s been a while since we targeted abs so I am throwing this doosie in the ring for ab workouts:

Okay, so I know you guys are going to tell me how hard this looks and how much you don’t want to it–but–hear me out! This move is one of those compound moves that I love so much. Everything is working! Arms, legs, and especially core!I’d start off pretty small with a 3 or 5 lb dumbbell just to see how it feels. This is definitely one of those moves that gets uncomfortable very quickly but as you know that is where the magic happens!

Oh, this is such a good one! And I love that it incorporates so much in one move. That’s one of the reasons why I love doing planks. They work everything. I will have to give this one a try!
Planks are not my favorite, but I can totally see what you mean about total body exercises 😉

I’ve done Jack Knife’s lots of times but never with the dumbbell! I think I will try but I already know it is going to be brutal!!!

LOL usually the farting is saved for Yoga. Go figure.

Ugh! Jackknives are hard enough but putting a db in my hand..I’m just not sure about that!

Ok, I love most of all his cute smile at the end. I would definitely do this. I agree that it looks hard but I guess I thought it would be worse than it was. Maybe you should always put those little notes in the beginning about how we’re all going to think it looks hard because I was pleasantly surprised that it seemed doable.
Now watch me try to do it and change my mind at how doable it seems..

Whoa! Talk about a whole-body workout in one! I might actually try this during my next workout (with light weights, as you suggest)!
Yes, light weights please! I think anything higher than 5 and I wouldn’t be able to do many reps at all!
Yes, I have a couple actually in previous wednesday workout, but you can definitely stand up straight and bring your knees to your abs
