The One Where The Baby Graduates Pre-Kindergarten
What I really wanted to do was tell you all about this baby, this little man, the child that helped birth this blog because without him in my belly I don’t think I would have had the courage to start writing. Instead I want to write something for him because I want him to know how I felt in this very special moment. The moment he ended pre kindergarten.
When I dropped you off at preschool last September, I knew you would be just fine. I didn’t cry like I did with your brother because something about the way you are gives me confidence that every single thing is ok.
I was right.
You made friends SO quickly, when you walk down the halls everyone calls your name–teachers, security guards, kids who aren’t even in your class. You show them that infectious smile and just like that, they are hooked! You’re teacher calls you the president, she said “Jacob has so much personality and that will get him everywhere”.
I can see that.
As you came down the aisle for your pre-k ceremony you really could not stop smiling and waving to me daddy and mama. You waved, every three minutes to be exact. You were over the moon with excitement.
For your performance they put you in the front and the middle because let’s be honest, that’s is where you belonged. You danced your heart out but not before taking a few seconds in between to wave to us from the stage.
Sometimes I feel bad Jacob, because you witness some of the challenges we have with your very spirited and strong willed brother. You may even see me spend extra time with him to keep him calm and collected. I can’t deny you were always the easy one–and I thank you for your patience.
You are a bit of a daredevil, a dancer, a singer, and you back down to no challenge no matter how big. You have qualities that I wish I had myself. You are extremely forgiving, patient and jolly. You have a magnetic personality and I can’t wait to see you shine in Kindergarten.
You deserve the absolute best.
You are so excited for grade school, you will finally able to board the school bus with your brother which is something you have wanted to do for 2 whole years!! Finally, it’s your turn! You play with your school bus toys daily and get so excited when you see on one the streets. I wish I could ride your first ride with you.
I’m SO proud of you Jakey. I am SO excited for your kindergarten debut.
