It’s warm in NYC. I know I say this after EVERY winter but warm weather in this city is an absolute GIFT. The kind of perfect warm day where the breeze is cool enough to matter but not cold enough to give you the shivers.
Now that my youngest is 77.9% potty trained we have been exploring our city more than ever! I work full time and honestly I look forward to the weekends because there is always a new adventure planned, either we are going to fun events, trying out new and old NYC hangouts–we pretty much never stay in on the weekends. (We spend enough time doing that when it’s cold outside!)
One of our favorite things to do is go to the park. We spend a lot of time there because it is SO gorgeous and I really have a new appreciation for this local park since beginning to run outside–it is SO much bigger and deeper than I could have ever imagined! Plus there were new renovations so it is a really beautiful place to hang out.
Running around after these two is not for the weak. So I have made it a point to go out on our excursions in the most comfortable workout gear possible (read: workout clothes!).
The wonderful people at Athleta sent me several of their items from their new Summer line and I was SO excited to model them (thanks Hubby) while we spent the latter half of our weekend at the park.
My eldest boy has been coming home and teaching ME exercises from his physical education classes (say what?!). These moves include trunk twists, high knees, jumping jacks and ab exercises that include all the letters of the alphabet. When I was in kindergarten physical education was run around wildly until your next class.
Then we held some serious races. I’d like to call them 200 meter sprints. Except there was no way I could beat my opponents.
What I loved about all of my Athleta gear was that every single piece was extremely comfortable, easy to move in and super stylish too! The pieces were interchangeable and all of the sizes fit perfectly. I love the pockets in the capris and the zipper in the back to hold my ID/debit card etc. Fashionable and functional for the win!
I look forward to SO many more warm days in NYC, endless days in the park and well-spent time with my boys who are growing so fast it’s hard to keep up! Since I will be traipsing around the city every weekend I might as well look really good doing it!
Have you updated your fitness wardrobe for the summer yet?
