Another A Healthy U Conference is in the books and it was everything we hoped it would be and more.

Kim, Cassandre and I spent hours planning and promoting this conference. We exchanged tons of emails and texts on a daily basis crossing every “t” and dotting every I. The final result was perfection. The conference went extremely smoothly everyone had a great time and left newly motivated to continue pursuing a healthy lifestyle. Like last year, I was the Emcee!
The day started with the Unblock Your Best Self Panel which featured fitness rock stars Jennifer Turner from MAD COOL FITNESS, Aeshia DeVore from Pretty Girls Sweat and Vanessa Cunningham from Unhealthy No More. I wasn’t able to hear the whole session because I was busy setting up for the next segment but the little I heard was awesome. They gave the attendees great advice on how to take control of their health including scheduling workouts and making little changes for big results.

Next we had simultaneous sessions happening. We had the running 101 panel (which yours truly moderated) and a juicing 101 panel where we would be making smoothies live thanks to our session sponsor Ninja.

During the running session that featured Nykia Wharton and Michele Gonzalez from NYC Running Mama we were able to chat about everything including hydration, running gear, myths of running and so much more. I learned so much from these ladies!! We were also able to giveaway $150 in Brooks Running certificates, so that in itself was a lot of fun. 🙂 There were runners of all levels with tons of questions and even folks that wanted to start running. Our panelists spoke with such great passion and care that everyone in the room was able to walk away with something amazing.
Then it was time for the workouts!! Jennifer Turner and one of our popular speakers from last year Matthew Matheson each held calorie torching workouts that had everyone working crazy hard! Then we had some grub as we got ready for our keynote speaker!
Our Keynote speaker was none other than the dynamic Lita Lewis–she is a fitness motivator, personal trainer and above all of that she is a beautiful spirit. She has a killer social media following and for good reason. She is crazy inspirational and her workouts are BEAST. She does things that I didn’t think were possible, and she takes regular fitness to a new level.
She shared her story of coming to America from Australia, her winning her first figure competition, how hard she worked and how she fell in love with fitness. Her story not only captivated the attendees but had be captivated the most! Her message of love yourself where you are really hit home with me as I have been struggling back and forth between loving and hating my mirror image–Clearly I need to spend more time on the love side. It ended on the perfect note, and the attendees really identified with her message.
Planning is conference is not easy. I’ve attended a lot of conferences and taken advantage of how easily everything flows, how well I am fed and the awesome information I receive. Even though this is our second year doing this conference I have new respect for conference planners everywhere. With that said, I am renewed in a very special way every single time we pull this off. I can’t wait for next year and I hope to see you there!

awww, love the recap girlie. hard work and fun times as always with planning A Healthy U. On to 2016 🙂
Congrats on putting together what sounds like a very successful conference! It sounds like a blast, and if I lived in the area, I would have definitely attended. I find healthy living events to be so inspiring, and for the few that I’ve been to, I feel like I’m connecting with kindred spirits that have the same passions and interests that I do.
Some day Nellie! I will be there some day! It sounds like it was another great conference. I can completely believe that you were running around like crazy. I’m still amazed that you did all of that AND ran a race that morning!
I’ve never attended a healthy living conference but if I ever do – it will be this one. I’ve always wanted to plan a conference. I imagine it’s SO MUCH work. Just so much. I’m up for it, though.
What’s funny is I actually haven’t really been to a healthy living SPECIFIC conference before… Conference yes though! I am so pumped for FitBloggin’ – We must chat VERY SOON about our presentation! 🙂
