Weekly Wednesday Workout: Supermans
This one is a great, classic move to tone up…well pretty much every where, but is targeted for the back. When I do these I feel it immediately in my bum, legs, back, and pretty much my entire body.

No equipment needed yet it tones your whole body. Sometimes when I do these the hardest part is concentrating on lifting ALL parts at the same time. Like, my arms go up but then I forget my legs and visa versa–all the while trying to squeeze my bottom. This requires a lot of concentration, but I like it all the same! Extra points for those who whole the pose longer in the air!

That looks like an awesome move. I may work up to it…one day. I’ve discovered I really love back exercises. They make me feel stronger. –Lisa
Yes exactly, it does wonders for your core!
Supermans have always been hard for me – I do them but I can’t get the height of the lady in the video!!!
The height is definitely the hardest part!! I need to work on that myself
I haven’t done these in such a long time! I used to do these back in the day when I did gymnastics & cheerleading.
its a great move!
Oh my god, she really does look like Superman! Now I have the theme song in my head. I’m going to try this today, but not in front of my daughter. I can just see her asking what I’m doing, and what it’s “supposed” to look like as opposed to how it looks like when I do it.
haha, yes If only we could fly away with the move 🙂
Back in the day we had a song and a dance and I won’t put what it was on your blog but I remember doing the dance you just took me back some years. My arms may get tired on this one though
LOL it wasn’t THAT much back in the day was it?
Yep, love the superman! Enjoy that one!
enjoy is a strong strong word 😉
I think I hate supermans more than burpees! No…I hate burpees more! LOL!
LOL doesn’t everybody hate burpees, I’m actually challenging myself to do some exercises that I hate soon, a lot. LOL stay tuned.
Motion to rename to Wonder Woman! Awesome move!
I like this name!! We need to make this happen! 😉
We should totally re-name this exercise to “Supermoms”.
Now drop and gimme 8 supermoms! (see that, it sounds great in context.)
sounds awesome actually. Shall I get the petition going?
Ok, tried it. Decided I hated it more than I hate burpees. 🙂
LOL I hate burpees too but they are so effective.
Those look to be easy but by the second one my back, hamstrings, and upper arms are on fire!
exactly! I can only do like 10 now, but it will get better with practice for sure!
One of my favorites! It’s a great way to strengthen your back without putting too much stress on it.
I’ll give you super bonus points if you put light weights in your hands while you do it. Oooooo…… :0
Yeah like maybe 2.5 pounds to start then I will build up from there! 🙂
[…] I did these post workout and I was surprised at how tough it was to complete! These are similar to supermans except you are working opposite sides of your body at the same time. That is good multi tasking! […]
