Weekly Wednesday Workout: Dumbbell Reach
Okay so this week’s Weekly Wednesday Workout is definitely not as um colorful as last week but it is almost just as fun. You see this requires your full attention and concentration!
I’ve never been the best at balance–I can dance and all of that but when it comes to quieting my brain enough to stay focused and stay on one leg…that is a bit of a challenge for me. What I love about this exercise is that I actually have a goal, pick up the dumb bell and put it back down, all the while balancing on one foot. This exercise is excellent for building up the core as well as working on that elusive balance (I suppose that is a whole ‘nother topic but I won’t go there, ha!). If you don’t have any dumb bells you can totally put anything (a water bottle, a kids toy, etc.) on the floor as a target object to pick up.

I haven’t tried it but it looks good. I have a bit of a struggle with my balance as well. You found a heavy duty channel this week, this chick has cred!

I have decent balance but I have never tried this! Actually I say I have decent balance but I bet if you were to make a video of me doing this, it would show me crashing to the floor!

Ok, I’ve tried this exercise before and WHOOO! I can do okay when I am balancing on my right leg but my left leg is another story. I like that move though.
exactly, whats up with the left leg?! I did it today and it was a mess. LOL
This one is totally going on my list – hopefully I can fit it in this week!!
I love to do moves like this that work the balance – I need all the help I can get!!!

yes, exactly! I did those today.
My balance has actually improved a lot since I have been doing Yoga, which has plenty of one leg balance moves, but none of them require reaching for a dumb bell. I will definitely have to try this one.
Yes in yoga there are plenty one leggers, I am always wiggly with those too!

My balance is awful, lol! I really want to work on my core strength, endurance, and I guess I should add…balance.

Omg… tried to do that exercise today. Balancing on one foot is harder than I thought =))
