Weekly Wednesday Workout: Side Plank With Oblique Crunch
This week’s Weekly Wednesday Workout is a tad bit more simpler than last week, but targeting the same pesky oblique area. With the summer coming I have been paying extra attention to this area as I would essentially like to be love handle free for the summertime 🙂

Not too terrible, right? The most important part of this exercise is making sure your elbow hit your knee every time, that way you can ensure that you get the full crunch in the abs too. I like the fact that it is one of those exercises you can do anywhere including in front of the TV. 🙂 I think this move combined with this move and I shall have the tightest obliques this side of Brooklyn.

We were clearly on the same train of thought today – I was planning to do a similar move for my 43 – better get on it!!
ha, I see!
I think I could do a few of those, but would def. feel the burn after a few.
Thanks for sharing. And for stopping by my blog the other day on my SITS day. I really appreciate it 🙂
You are very welcome Sue, thanks for dropping by!
That looked easy you know every time you put an exercise on here I try it before I write the comment to see if you are setting me up for the okey dokey that was pretty neat though.
see not everything I put up is complete torture 🙂
Oh I need this. My son is now 10 months old and I can’t use the “I just had a baby” excuse anymore. At least with summer I can wear maxi dresses until the love handles fully disappear..
I still think I’m using that excuse everyday, and my baby is 17 months old 🙂
I am 100% sure just attempting to get into that position would cause me to break something!! That is seriously impressive!-Ashley
its not so bad 😉
I love it! I think so basic when it comes to freestyling it. This series continues to challenge me.
Yeah when I pick them, i’m trying to broaden my own horizons!
yes yes yes i would and need to try it!!
Lemme know how it works for you!
The love handles must go. I will try this one tonight.
girl who you tellin!
Great move! I did this in my core fitness class one time and now one of the other trainers is doing it in her class. She thanked me for the new move!
Nice! Its pretty great, Id never seen it before I saw this vid!
I feel you! I wan those darn love handles gone! But…I am not so sure spring will last long enough to get rid of them. I am not working though. I am your new follower everywhere that I could. I subscribed to your email and rss, I so often lost contact because I go through so many blogs that if I do not email or rss it is hard for me too remember my intentions of coming back to post! So now you will see me more often. Living F.A.B.ulously on Purpose
I’ve subscribed to all of your feeds as well! so nice to meet you! I adore your blog!
Very impressed! I used to be so flexible. Today, I’m like a granite statue! LOL
hahaha
Ok. I had to get down and actually try to see if I like it. Um, my balance was off, but I finally managed to do a few. I’m breathing hard.lol Definitely a go. I actually like this one 🙂
not so bad right? Not every move I put up is designed to torture! 🙂
Another great exercise Nellie, I hope you get toned obliques for the summer. Not sure if you’ve already featured it but I’ve found a great exercise for the obiques is the crossover knee to elbow. Start off in a straight arm plank position then take each knee to the opposite elbow. Keep the abs tight and still maintain that plank position (abs tight, bum down, hips up). Enjoy!
