Lately I’ve been feeling a shift in blogging. It’s been small, but significant. My love for blogging hasn’t declined and I actually get way more out of writing than I ever have. As a matter of fact, I’ve challenged myself this year to simply be better, and I’ve been really happy with the content being produced out of Brooklyn Active Mama.
I also realize that I want to start putting my energy into other things. Recalibrate the GPS a bit. This blog has birthed so many other extensions such as social media profiles, paid event gigs, newsletters, writing for other outlets, and more. Many blogger friends have told me to hire a Virtual Assistant but that doesn’t even feel like me. Hiring a team down the line may be the way to go, but for right now I want to hold on to my baby (read: have all the control) for as long as possible.
There have been so many projects/ideas that I want to execute but planning a 5 post week usually takes all my time with photo editing/graphic creation/social promotion and more. Although I love it, I can’t deny how much time it takes from everything else.
I’m going to resume a three day posting schedule. It’s been three years of posting 5-6 times a week. There will be weeks when my brain is on overload and I will post 5 times a week–this will absolutely happen. Because my writing is my therapy. Plus you guys have spoiled me by being so supportive and amazing.
However, with a very demanding full time job and two kids that are getting older (so fast!), and a husband who loves cuddling more than the average man–I have to start working a bit smarter with my resources. I’ve even stopped going to events that really don’t grab my interest, which are like 90%. Stretching myself way too thin has always been an issue of mine, but I don’t think it was the case–now I really want to try new things like develop the BAM newsletter, maybe do a weekly vlog because I LOVE video, or even just revamp all the good existing stuff.

New Facebook Group
On Tuesday, I put out a call to my personal friends and family to see if there would be any interest in a closed Facebook group full of amazing women that will encourage a healthy lifestyle and finding ways to fit in workouts.
