A few weeks ago I shared with you guys that I am now a Rock N Blog Ambassador for the Rock N Roll Marathon Series. If you are unfamiliar with the Rock N Roll program, they host a ton of races across the United States and even across the world. Running Rock N Roll DC last year was SO much fun and honestly I can’t wait to run another. I even have a pretty amazing discount code just for my readers that I will be sharing at the end of this post!! In the meantime, there are some pretty great reasons to run a Rock N Roll race 🙂
Three Reasons Why I Love Rock N Roll Marathon Races
The Expo – Because the races are massive the expos are massive too! The races are packed full of your favorite running brands and if you have forgotten anything at all during race day, you will find it there. There was so much merchandise available for the race AND just general running stuff, I really couldn’t get enough!
The Bands – The biggest draw for the Rock N Roll Races is the bands. All along the route you will find bands playing anything from Jazz to Salsa, and they are really good! Sometimes there may even be a headliner band at the post race finish. The best thing about the bands personally is that seeing them gives me an extra push because somehow it feels as if they were playing for me and me alone. 🙂 (This may also be a part of my only child syndrome).
The Bling – I am so into medals at a race. I am very much into the design, the size, the weight, the colors–ALL OF IT. I am not ashamed to say that I have previously signed up for a race (virtual or otherwise) just so I could add the bling to my collection. The Rock N Roll Marathon Series bling is always well thought out and in direct correlation with the race that you are running. Another cool program is that they have “Remix” medals that you can get in addition, if you run a select set of states.
I have my eye on Rock N Roll Chicago, Rock N Roll Brooklyn (a MUST) and Rock N Roll Philly naturally because Philly is my favorite place ever!
