5 Reasons Why You Should Visit The Philadelphia Flower Show
Last week I took a day off from work and visited the annual Philadelphia Flower Show. The show opened officially on Saturday to the general public but a group of handpicked influencers got to preview the show before everyone else.
This would be my second time attending the show, I attended a few years ago on one (of many) random trips to Philadelphia. I absolutely loved it then so I was super excited to see it again after all these years.
The show is open for 9 days (2/28-3/8) at the Philadelphia Convention Center and is expected to have 250k+ in attendance. Every year has a theme and this year’s theme is Celebrate The Movies.
1) The Theme
I absolutely loved this theme! From the long glamorous red carpet leading you into the show to the movie theater style popcorn to the fantastic displays of select movies, you get immersed in the Hollywood experience!
My favorite display of all was the Disney Princesses. All of the favorites were highlighted with special flower displays that related directly to the movie. For example there were lots of floating red roses for Snow White.
Another incredible display was the Frozen interpretation. I’m pretty sure I stood with my jaw wide open for a few minutes before coming back to reality. Take a look and see what I mean–it was breathtaking.
2) The Aromas
As you can imagine being around so many flowers leads to some of the best smells you can imagine. It was music to my nose. I lingered a bit longer at the Cherry Tree Blossoms display because they smelled simply amazing.
3) The Learning Experience
If you take the time you can learn a lot about the different flowers that exist. The arrangements were extremely unique and a lot of these flowers I had never even heard of but were so beautiful I had to learn more.
I wish I could have had these flowers at my wedding. I was completely bowled over by these arrangements!
4) The Seminars and Cooking Classes
During the show there are live shows. One of the shows had cooking and she was showing different ways to use herbs and spices that you can grow yourself in your backyard. Another show on the other side of the building highlighted how to craft your own bouquets for centerpieces or as a gift.
5) The adventure and proximity to everything Philadelphia
The Philadelphia Convention Center is right smack in the center of Philadelphia and is surrounded by fantastic highly rated restaurants and shops. When we were done we walked down to a stunning restaurant called Pennsylvania 6. We were escorted upstairs where it fittingly had a glam old school movie theme with pictures of actors and actresses in black and white.
If you can go, take the family to the show, you won’t be disappointed, I promise you! Check out the video of highlights I put together 🙂
