Mornings in my household are an absolute adventure.
The alarm wakes me up and a cruel 5:10am every morning. I immediately wake up the man because he is a “long showerer” (Yes, I totally made that word up!) so while he is in there I either try to grab a few minutes of extra sleep or push myself to get out of the bed early.
My youngest is a very light sleeper just like his mama so any shift in the environment cause him to pop right up and begin animated conversation. Meanwhile my eldest sleeps through it all closely resembling a rock sandwiched between two other rocks.
After I shower I proceed to check the mood temperature of my eldest, some days he does NOT want to be bothered and I assist him with his clothes while he grumbles. The man gets the baby ready.
The night before I have taken care of many save time tasks that include lunch prep, early morning snacks, packed book bags, and making sure shoes, coats and all accessories are present and in one place.
Once I have them both downstairs and ready I have approximately 8 minutes to get dressed and do my makeup. After that my mom is gracious enough to pick us up and take the kids and I to the bus station while dad goes in later.
Did you notice anything missing here?
Breakfast! I never get to have a decent breakfast and according to most healthy living experts I am supposed to at least have something to eat as soon as I get up to get my metabolism roaring for the day.
I was recently introduced to belVita Bites–a new way of taking breakfast to go. They are tasty treats that I can grab and nosh while waiting for my sons’ school bus, or while I’m waiting for the train (s), or even before I hit the gym. It’s easy, tasty and no mess. The cool part about the belVita Bites is that it releases carbs slowly over a 4 hour period so I won’t be completely ravenous during my hectic morning commute.
On our way to the bus stop we all snack on the belVita bites–it’s easy and the boys especially love the chocolate flavor. I am a mixed berry girl myself! We may not be able to sit around the table and eat a full breakfast but this works just as well!

So not a morning person here and even though I have trained myself to get up early, I still scrabble even on a good morning for breakfast. So these sound the a real winner and godsend for those crazy mornings here. Will totally have to check out now for us, too 😉

I do make time for breakfast! I tried to do the fasting thing but I felt terrible. My go-to breakfast is eggs and oatmeal at 5:30. That usually keeps me going until 9 when I have my Shakeology and a banana. I have had these in bar form and they are tasty.

The Husband is one of those people that just can’t be bothered to do anything until he’s eaten at least two courses for breakfast and had a LARGE mug of coffee (or 2). I’m pretty much the opposite. Eating too quickly makes my stomach feel sick, so I’m usually out of the house by 5 and then I eat after I’ve gotten a couple things done at work (usually around 7). That said, I know how early your kids have to be at the bus, and it’s INSANE for little ones to be up and out so early on a daily basis. Kudos to you and your Husband for managing that every day. Looks like the BelVita bites are a great way for you to get a little extra mealtime in with your kids too…bonus!!

I am not a morning person. I have two alarms one to wake the kids up then I go back to sleep by the time the second one goes off everyone should be dressed son usually sets the table up for breakfast and all I have to do is throw something together and I do mean throw. I am always looking for easy breakfast items this one will be on the llist
With me being way laid out with a cold today, yes, mornings are quite an adventure. And breakfast is usually an afterthought for me.
Not the kids, though! Des often eats one here, and two at daycare. He’s a three breakfast kind of guy!

You’ve got a pretty busy and EARLY morning. I have my mornings timed out to perfection, like there’s no hitting snooze or its over, lol! I do shakes for breakfast of course. They’re quick, tasty, filling, and nutritious.
