Weekly Wednesday Workout: 3 Way Lunges

Lunges are one of my favorite exercises! I do them all the times usually in combination with squats. This is a fun twist to the classic move. I like the fact that by doing all three lunge positions, you can hit multiple leg muscles all in one workout. This one is perfect for the gym and even more perfect for the living room (no equipment required!). The best part though? The heart rate gets GOING! So its a great cardio AND strength training exercise. Double duty. 🙂

Gotta love the lunge to shape and strengthen those gams!! I think you should add in a jumping lunge, ya know…just for fun. Happy Hump Day!

I’ve never tried this specific move, but the strength DVD I do on the weekends has a similar set with side lunges that go straight into a back or curtsy lunge. And let me tell you, at a fast pace, my heart is definitely pumping! Though I’ve started slowing things down a bit because I felt like my form was suffering from the speed.
Yes, that is a really great point! Your form can totally suffer with speed!
You have GOT to share with me how you love lunges. I can’t think of an exercise that I hate more. Did it just become habit?
I learned to like em. I think the exercise I hate the most is burpees, but maybe if I did them often enough I wouldn’t hate them so.
Lunges are killer when you do 100 reps no matter what position. Forgive me, my legs are sore from pump this a.m. !
