Three of My Most Embarrassing Moments
I’ve had more than a few very embarrassing moments in my life, haven’t we all? Today’s post is about a very easy solution to a not so embarrassing issue. For some reason people don’t like to talk about female incontinence but guess what it happens…especially to those of us mom who have natural pregnancies (and those of us who have had c-sections!). There is a lot that goes on during the process that adversely affects the bladder causing leakage at the most in opportune times!
To be honest, I don’t believe that a leaky bladder is the most embarrassing thing and to prove it I am sharing 3 of my most embarrassing moments in my life and trust me I’ve had plenty.
- When I was a kid, maybe 12 years old or so, my family stopped at a KFC on our way to a very long road trip. I was not happy about this because as you all know I don’t like chicken, never have. While we were sitting in the car distributing food my mom asked me to go back in and ask the cashier for some wet wipes. I got out begrudgingly, walked right up to the cashier and said the following words: “Can I get a sanitary napkin?” I actually said that. Obviously my brain was supposed to say wet wipe but what actually came out was me asking for a maxi pad. The cashiers gave me a puzzled look them burst in to collective laughter when they realized what I was asking for. This is a true story.
- About a month ago, it was a exceptionally hot day outside. Things had been going wrong all day. It wasn’t anything big but really small things that added up to be a really annoyingly crappy day. To make myself feel better I splurged on a really overpriced tall lemonade. The cashier asked me if I wanted a bag and I said sure as I was going to enjoy this lemonade on the long train ride home. As soon as I got on the train, I saw a seat way across the train car and as I was walking I heard a loud pop and instantly the weight of my hand was lighter. The lemonade had fallen and splashed everyone within a 3 foot radius. It was everywhere. I apologized profusely. This is a true story.
- I was taking the boys to an event in the city late in the evening so I was solo. We were all sitting on the train and they were busy on their iPads. All of a sudden, the train doors would not close. I looked down to my left and realized a slim purple marker was stuck in the door. I casually tapped the gentleman by the door and asked him to remove it. He couldn’t. A woman next to him whipped up something out of her bag macgyver style and pried the marker out of the doorway. When the doors finally closed my son tapped me and said “mommy, that’s my marker”. This is a true story.
