The basic recipe is typically graham crackers, butter, sugar, chocolate chips and a few more easy ingredients. Combined together and baked, the result is a sweet gooey treat that everyone loves!

Magic Cookie Bars are popular in America but they originate from Australia or New Zealand. Their name derives from the fact that you only need to use a few ingredients and there’s no baking involved!

How do you make Magic Cookie Bars?

The magic cookie bar recipe couldn’t be simpler. You take graham crackers, butter, brown sugar and chocolate chips then bake everything together for 10 minutes. The mixture is cooled before adding coconut, walnuts and coconut. Then slice them up into squares! That’s it! A delicious treat ready in less than 20 minutes!

These super fun magic cookie bars are so good and easy to make with your own customizable ingredients!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) melted butter
  • 1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup flaked coconut
  • 2-1/2 cups chocolate chips, semi-sweet
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees 
  2. Spray sides of 13x9 -inch baking pan. In a small bowl, mix together your butter and graham crackers. Spread evenly in your pan
  3. Drizzle the condensed milk over the crumbs.
  4. Layer with chocolate chips, coconuts and then nuts.
  5. Bake for 25 minutes or until the edges are light brown. Cool completely before cutting. Store in an airtight container.
