What a insane, tense week huh? With so much going on and more “news” being reported literally every hour, its a LOT to handle. I don’t know if I have ever seen our country so divided and so volatile. It’s hard because a the changes can sometimes make you feel helpless–at least for me that’s what happens. So I’m all about the self care regimen this week.
I was also saddened to hear about the passing of Monica the lead face of Glam Runner tutu’s who suffered from brain cancer and leaves behind a little girl. I was her biggest cheerleader when the whole SHAPE magazine blow up happened and she inspired me to wear tutu’s with joy and happiness despite what other runner’s thought. Rest In Peace.
Week 8 of the Jamie Eason Program called for a lot of the same that Week 7 did.
Monday: Arms, Abs & Cardio – 4 Mile Run
Tuesday: Chest, Abs & Cardio – 3 Mile Run
Wednesday: Leg Day in the morning & Booty Burn Class in the evening (more on that next week!)
Thursday: Jillian Michaels 30 Minute Body Shred & a Booty and Abs Sculpting class! (deets to come!)
Friday: Rest (because omg my body hurts)
Saturday: 7 miles (hopefully outside)
Can you guys believe that the AirBNB Brooklyn Half sold out in 27 minutes yesterday? What?! Omg! It is a good thing that I volunteer every year for guaranteed entry because the pressure of general registration is way too much!
United NYC Half is approaching…quickly. Am I feeling super confident about training right now? Nope. BUT–I am going to do better. I’m taking a purposeful rest day today to let my body recover from the workouts so I can hopefully relax right into 7 miles on Saturday. (I can’t believe how long this seems to me after just running 26.2 less than 3 months ago).
The great thing is that I am starting to feel a LOT stronger in my runs. Looks like the unicorn run wasn’t that rare after all, I’m running with more confidence and really like I did when I first started running. I’m beginning to get out of my head more and I’m fighting against the will to quit. I’m hoping that with the continued hard work of the program that it can only get better from here.
