This is a special guest post from another one of the amazing people on my events team Krishna from Baobab Wellness. She is a powerhouse blogger and was able to cover a really cool Amazon event for Brooklyn Active Mama with her littles. Enjoy!
Amazon Channels Joins Forces with PBS KIDS
Shhh, don’t tell anyone but I am probably one of the biggest PBS kids fan on earth. I know every show, their respective theme song and when the kids are gone, I can be found humming the theme to Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. I LOVE PBS So I was hype when Nellie asked me to cover the Amazon Channels and PBS Kids family event.
Amazon has added PBS kids component to its Amazon Channels video subscription for Prime Members. The service is available for $4.99 a month and provides little ones with more than 1,600 episodes of programming that cover literary, STEM and social developmental skills.
When we arrived, we were greeted by this awesome fish tank that ran through the lobby of the hotel down into the Fishbowl, the lower level of the hotel. The space was set up to not only showcase Amazon’s new venture but for pure family fun!
There were coloring tables, complete with markers, pencils and toddler friendly crayons each with a different character. My three-year-old couldn’t help jumping up and down when he saw the Daniel Tiger coloring pages and the tattoo station.
As the kids took in the scene and colored with the amazing staff I ventured to the see what yummy treats were at the buffet station, and OH MY! It was quite the impressive spread, with something to tempt everyone’s taste buds. Clearly it was going to be a paleo-free day, and we were good with that.
We ate, had specialized drinks (for the big and little kids) and then the real fun began. The special guests had arrived. And while I we were excited to see Nature Cat, Buddy from Dinosaur Train and even Daniel Tiger (okay, Corey almost fainted and couldn’t stop hugging him) the star of the show for me was the one and only Jet Proportion. We even got to dance together while holding hands.
Amazon and PBS gave us a day full of sweet treats, amazing food and family fun!
