Back On Track & 15 Pounds To Go

My body has been through the ringer lately.

I fought three illnesses in the last 4 weeks. It was brutal. I tried to workout through it all and although I did do it, the one thing that made any difference was 4 straight days of rest. Happy to say, I am almost recovered, back on track and praying that my children don’t bring anything else home that compromises my immune system!

Since I am feeling like myself again, I am back in the gym with a renewed motivation. There are some amazing things happening with my body:

1) Zumba: I am choreographing my Zumba set, I have my own class starting in mid January and quite honestly can’t think of anything else! All of this extra moving is great for my body because I’m not even considering this to be a workout, it’s just something I have to do.

2) My midsection is going down! Finally! After my c-section last December, I was simply terrified to do abs exercises. (I tried planking and nearly passed out, my first attempt at a sit-up was met with a terrible pain) needless to say I was scared. Finally after chatting with this lovely lady I started being more consistent with my ab work, no matter what I’m doing I add crunches/planks. It’s working!

3) AM workouts: I faithfully attend my Wednesday AM spin class but I am starting to work out earlier which is great because usually I don’t have the energy to get up all that early.

I also realized that I have about 15 pounds left till goal. 15 pounds! It seems like a lot but so little at the same damn time.

So what’s stopping me? Nothing really.

I have an amazing new Christmas gift from the hubby that makes working out with music a new experience…

He did good yall!

I am excited to lose this weight now. I spent a lot of this year being super impatient and annoyed with myself and my body for not dropping the weight in the fastest time.

But it’s alright. It’s more than alright. It will happen. Not tomorrow–But soon, I just have to stay completely focused and take the pressure off. Not easy, but doable.

That’s great to hear. Only 15lbs to go. I know you can do it. I finally got the OK from my midwife to work out so I’ve already started. It feels like its a long way to go, but with time I know it’s going to get done.

Can’t wait to hear about your Zumba class…so much fun and I know you will get Raid of those last few pounds!!

  7. I completely feel you. I’ve dedicated much of my free time to exercising 3x/week. I’ve been sick and taking care of sick toddlers off and on for the past month and a half. I worked out when I had a cold but not when I had the stomach flu and didn’t work out at all when my boys were sick.
I’m with you on not shedding my mid-section faster. ‘ll be 2 years postpartum in 3 weeks and I lost weight EVERYWHERE but my stomach. I naturally drop weight quickly (everywhere else). I stopped working out when I lost the baby weight but still had a sorta big tummy. I just started back running and doing ab-work in Sept.
My plan is to lose this wrinkly tummy by February so I need to increase the cardio to 30 mins (instead of my 10mins. :/ )
