If you have been reading this blog for a while or even a week you probably have figured out that my life is hectic. I am constantly moving, shaking and socializing because it is the way I am wired. Even before this blog propelled me face first into the event scene I was always doing something… In college when I was kid free and I could sleep late I would volunteer on evenings that I wasn’t working. I’d go all over town donating my time or organizations because it felt right for me to be moving constantly.
A lot of you ask How I Do It. There is no secret sauce or special formula. I usually get event invites, figure out if it’s something I want to write about on the blog, do I have child care, do I have conflicts with work, and from there I make the decision. Although it may seem like I spend my entire nights at events, I don’t. I usually check it out, take my flicks, and head home.

I absolutely love being busy. However, while I am taking care of my boys, my husband, my career and my business there are some times where I steal moments for myself:
Since I have started really training to be a runner, I have been enjoying being outdoors and exploring my neighborhood. Running buddies are fun but there is something about being one with nature too. When I run outside, that is stealing a moment for me. My running doesn’t benefit anyone but myself. It makes me happy. It helps me to think things through. It’s freeing. But most of all it is all mine. Every run I feel myself getting better (even on bad runs) and that is worth every minute.
Sometimes, although rarely, I take entire days off to sleep. I force myself to not get on my computer, lay down in my bed and just rest. Not only do I steal a moment, I steal entire days to rejuvenate and get my mind right.
With this whole notion of being super mom, I think that it is so important to take time for yourself to rest and recharge. Sometimes I look at my calendar and schedule a walk in my favorite park or buy a new addictive best seller that will distract me from all the normal duties of my life. Or even just find a reason to go near the open water and sit on a bench. There are so many great moments that can be missed in all the crazy. So make sure you always continue to steal a moment for yourself.
While you are stealing a moment for yourself you can have a drink of fruitwater which has zero calories. Not only is it tasty but you can drink it without all the guilt attached! My personal favorite was the strawberry kiwi. The bestie and I got to try all the flavors (in fun ways) during the party.
I encourage every woman to take time for themselves, whether its a massage, a run, a NAP–whatever it is make sure you are taking time to renew and rejuvenate!
