With the upcoming holidays I got the brilliant idea to host a turkey Zumba. What is a turkey Zumba? Glad you asked because I completely made this one up! Tomorrow morning I will be teaching my usual Zumba class except I am adding a nice 30 minute boot camp at the end to hopefully do a nice pretty burn for all the upcoming Thanksgiving calories!
I have invited pretty much everyone that actually likes to exercise so I expect it to be a lot of fun. The playlist is so ready, there is salsa, merengue, soca, African, Brazilian and of course a little Britney Spears. I’m hype!
Here is what I had on deck for boot camp (for those of you that are attending you get a sneak peek!)
1 minute intervals Jumping jacks
Walking push up
Single leg lunge (30 seconds each leg) 1 minute rest Repeat 3x. Booty Scissor legs
Leg swings 1 Minute Rest Repeat 2x Core Plank one minute
Toe Touches 1 Minute Rest Repeat 2x Stretch
My week this week was fantastic, it was another week of hard discipline and good eating. I didn’t have not one over calorie day which was awesome! I am just a creature of habit when it comes to food. I always eat the same things and I never have the need to switch things up. Since everything I am eating is within my calorie range, it is working.
Also, its been a while since I’ve eaten crap, so i’m excited about that. There is a certain detox that people go through when they are not eating the same foods anymore and I really think I have finally passed that stage of wanting and needing crappy foods. Don’t get me wrong, I have cravings–especially when I am hungry–but to see the amazing progress that has happened in 7 weeks? That is seriously something I can’t ignore!
I have a pair of black work pants that I used to try on every single week to check my progress. It came to a point where I was just TIRED of feeling the same squeeze, the same failing to fit. I wore those pants this week–comfortably. When I showed them to my hubby he had no clue why they made me so happy, but man, what a sweet victory.
I was able to drop another 1.4 pounds this week, which is fantastic and seriously so motivating. Considering that AF came and left and I still managed to lose? That has NEVER happened before! I am happy for small losses and for big ones, considering that I am so used to losing a very small amount then waiting WEEKS for for another loss (if I’m lucky). I totally see the light at the end of the tunnel and I there is absolutely nothing stopping me from getting there.
