So I like to to hang out and talk with my toddler a lot, I mean, I think this is the best time to chat with your children–they are still so innocent and they see things a lot differently than us!
I’ll give you an example.
I noticed yesterday that my nail had a chip in it and it was about to break all the way off.
So I said out loud to no one in particular “Oh MAN!”
Of course the boy runs over asking “Mommy, what’s wrong?”
I said, dejectedly, “My nail broke” *insert sad face*
He then takes my hand, inspects all my fingers with great concern, his brows furrowed with extreme intensity:
“Mommy, this is what we are going to do OK? We are going to call the doctor, you are going to go in the ambulance, and they are going to fix your nail at the hospital, OK?”
I mean, what else could I do but agree?
Today I got a pretty fun writing prompt from Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop (which I will probably be using a lot more from now on, especially now that I am close to halfway done with NaBloPoMo
The writing prompt I used today was:
