Friday Fitness Check In: Working Out While Sick


Welcome to the Friday Fitness Check In! I am using this as a bit of a fitness diary to keep my goals in check while sharing exactly what I am doing with you (since I get so many questions about it! :) Feel free to link up and do your own Friday Fitness Check In where you can keep track of the following:
  1. Fitness: Workouts for the week, how did I feel
  2. Food: Did I eat well? Let’s be honest shall we?
  3. Strength Training: Did I lift weights this week? How many reps and what exercises?
  4. Mind and Motivation: Where am I mentally? What motivated me this week?
  5. Weight: Have I lost weight this week? gained?
We have a very special fitness focused mom joining us for Friday Fitness Check In:

Monday: Spin Class
Wednesday: 6:45 AM Spin Class
Thursday: Zumba

I felt great like I was totally focused on weightloss mentally except my body was like nope. I unfortunately got sick late Saturday evening and it progressed into a wheezing coughing mess. Ugh. I mean I’m even on a pump.


I know I need to slow down but my gymrats will understand that I needed to move. I stayed home Tuesday sick from work but Wednesday morning I was back at it and I felt seriously amazing, then I felt terrible a few hours later lol (dang endorphins).

So only three workouts with a very minimal strength training, hopefully these meds work this weekend and I will be back at it next week.

It was an interesting week. Monday I was so sick of chewing food I opted for a protein shake for breakfast:

It was great, I was shocked as I didn’t get hungry until after my spin class (must have been all the protein).

So I ended up having the shake several times during the week, the shake is equivalent with my normal meal points so it was a win/win. I need to make time to juice more!!

Otherwise there was a bakesale that I was managing at work for a co-worker that had her life turned upside down from Sandy…that didn’t go too well. I’m not even a sweets person but my coworkers KNOW how to bake! It wasn’t ugly but it wasn’t pretty.

I’ve lost .6 pounds since the last time I weighed in. I’m ok with that. :)

    So sorry to hear you were sick earlier this week. I do hope you are feeling better now. Also, I can understand about not wanting to eat the calories. I need to get me some of that protein shake.
