Friday Fitness Check In – Thrown Off Routine

I am starting a new series @ BAM called the Friday Fitness Check In! I am using this as a bit of a diary to keep my goals in check while sharing exactly what I am doing with you (since I get so many questions about it! :) Feel free to link up and do your own Friday Fitness Check In where you can keep track of the following:
  1. Fitness: Workouts for the week, how did I feel
  2. Food: Did I eat well? Let’s be honest shall we?
  3. Strength Training: Did I lift weights this week? How many reps and what exercises?

Monday: 45 min Zumba for the Wii, 10 Min Hip Hop Cardio (DVD)
Wednesday: 30 Min LifeFitness Glider, 20 min walk on treadmill (one mile)
Thursday: LifeFitness Elliptical (45 min)

Abs: Crunches, SitUps, side planks

This week was weird for me. The anxiousness and crazy feelings regarding Sandy…I was completely thrown off my routine! I am used to having my breakfast around 8 am lunch at 1 and dinner at 7. This entire week i’m eating breakfast at 10 maybe eating lunch and eating my usual dinner at 7. I wasn’t snacking at all. I was tempted to bake a lot of cupcakes but I settled for Apple crisp since all the apples I picked were about 2 days from going bad.

On Monday,  realized that although the storm was coming the MTA had shut down meaning no gym. I, like others, had seriously underestimated Sandy so I thought I would be back at work on Tuesday for sure, Sandy had other plans…

On Monday I worked out at home, worked up a great sweat with my Zumba 2 for the Wii and my 10 minute solution hip hop dvd that I got from Fitbloggin.

On Wednesday I decided to make a run for it, the buses were running sporadically so I made it over to my local gym both Wednesday and Thursday. 

Being thrown off my routine has its benefits, I got way more sleep than I usually do (sleeping past the usual 5AM, & napping when the kids nap) and eating all homemade foods instead of buying lunch and breakfast everyday.
I ate pretty well this week. I ate a few treats here and there but it was all within moderation. Probably one of my best weeks so far on Weight Watchers.

Again, being at home with no access to takeout or stores kinda forces you to be good!

Ah, if every week were so simple!
Happy to say that I did lose 1.8 pounds this week! Keeping track I have lost a total of 7.3 pounds since I started Weight Watchers in September.

  3. Girl, my whole body hurts from working out this week. I'll spare you the details, but will add I'm training for a 1/2 Marathon and this mornings 5 mile run kicked my butt!

  8. Glad you were able to stay on track. I have not been so fortunate but I'm going to weigh in on Wed and just face it. I was glued to the TV since Sunday. Luckily we had power and our apartments are ok but seeing all the sadness, loss, lack of gas, and devastation is emotionally too much for me. It comes in a very hard year and I'm just trying to keep to stay sane. I'm struggling but trying to refocus.

  9. I hear you, Sandy is remarkably emotional and it is taking a toll on everyone I know, I think i'm having a bit of a delayed reaction this week, we shall see. Hold you head up, thank goodness tomorrow is another day.
