BAM Book Review: Falling Together

I was in need of a book to read after finishing Those We Love Most by Lee Woodruff for my book club. That book was so good but so incredibly sad so I wanted a story that was just as intriguing without the large sadness.

Falling Together did not disappoint. The story grabbed me early; it is one of those books that force you to pay attention! You can’t take a chance and glaze over paragraphs because the writing takes you back and forth through time.

The story is about three friends that were once thick as thieves then one day it all fell apart and they stop talking for 6 years.

The natural course for the reader is to wonder why? What could have broken up this incredibly strong friendship?!

The answer is revealed slowly (almost painstakingly) chapter by chapter until you are brought and dropped off in the present with mysteries unfolding beautifully. Secrets are revealed, intentions are finally made clear, and you finally see what it is that tore this friendship apart. I was pretty shocked at how much I was into the book before you knew it I could not put it down. Especially the last third of the book, my feelings were VERY involved.

The characters are lovable and extremely relatable–they are strong, very flawed and you can most likely see some of yourself in them.

This book was one of my favorites of the year, and I can see why it’s a national bestseller!
