Rest In Peace to the Overweight Lover Heavy D!


One thing that we hear all the time in life is that tomorrow is never guaranteed.

Rest in peace Heavy D. 44 Years young.

Growing up in Brooklyn…Heavy D was a staple in the late 80s and early to mid 90s…the girls on my block would dance and choreograph ALL of his songs!! He was just simply a guaranteed hit maker.

When I think about him, I think about my happy childhood. I think about his connection to Jamaica (my descent) which made me love him even more! Even though he was overweight I always thought he was such a cutie, especially in this video!!

Another one of my favs…

We hear of celebrities passing all the time…but this one affected me differently, as if I had known him personally. I wish I could go and pay my respects to his family….especially his daughter. Feels like I lost a friend, and the world lost someone so special with such a good spirit. This thing here called life is so unexpected and unpredictable. I pray for his soul and may his music, and acting live on forever.

  1. This was beautifully said! Not gonna lie…this affected me like when MJ died. He was the ish. I have his albums and now need to pull them out and jam to them. This really saddens me. Its always worse when a seemingly kind-hearted person passes at this young of an age with no sickness or diseases. Just so sad.
