The following is a sponsored post from Disney’s Citizen Kid.
As a mother, I have a huge responsibility to do my absolute best to make sure my children are the best they can absolutely be. I can give them a million dollars, a fancy home, a fancy car and all the fancy things but if I don’t teach them the importance of kindness then I would have failed in my role.
I have spoken many times about how my mom taught me the importance of giving back and I am so grateful to her for that gift. There are so many people in the world operating without kindness. It is my mission as a mom to teach my boys all the values they need in order to be amazing citizens when they grow up.
They are too young to really understand some of the unfortunate realities of this world but my dream is to spark something within them that will make them always want to give their time for others to make a not so good situation better. Similar one of my favorite Citizen Kid’s Joshua:
Last month when we went to pack food for the homeless I was so excited to see them follow directions so easily and be so eager to help pack bags. I want them to have that same enthusiasm when they are adults. I believe that if we continually expose them to different volunteer activities they will find one that they absolutely love.
A Great Campaign that is all about donating food is The Great American Milk Drive
Milk is one of the items most requested by food bank clients yet there’s a nationwide shortage because it is rarely donated. The Great American Milk Drive is the first-ever nationwide program to help deliver highly desired and nutrient-rich gallons of milk to hungry families who need it most.
Starting the morning with a nutritious breakfast with milk is a great way to get ready to tackle the day. Milk powers potential—if you have access to it. Unfortunately, many families who rely on food banks do not have that access because there’s a shortage of milk.
The Great American Milk Drive helps deliver milk to hungry families in your community. By visiting (www.MilkLife.com/give), you can help donate milk for as little as $5. By entering your zip code, your donation can help power the potential in your community.
Join me as I pledge to raise citizen kids that will make our earth a better place to live in the future.
