Prospect Park Goes Pink!

A few weeks ago, I blogged that I would be Making Strides For Breast Cancer with some of my nearest and dearest in Prospect Park.

It was an absolutely beautiful day.

Lifelong friends

Thousands of people gathered in Brooklyn’s own Prospect Park to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer.

Everywhere you looked there were people wearing pink clothing, banners, sashes, wigs, anything you can think of–was pink!

Stilts! How cool!

Did I mention it was an absolutely beautiful day?

Usually the girls and I go all the way uptown to Central Park’s Making Strides Walk but for the first time in 8 years we tried something new and kept it local…

We probably won’t be doing that again because of the really late start time (11am) and the confusion that ensued … maybe because it wasn’t our normal location…but we were all over the place, we started early, took a couple of wrong detours and could barely get out of the park when it was time to go.

As my girls let me know over and over…We will be going back to Central Park next year for sure! Earlier start times (8am), a  clear path of walking, and familiarity!

Wherever we walk next year I will be honored to walk with such wonderful people for such a great cause.

Afterwards, as a part of tradition, we went for a yummy brunch at Le P’tit Paris Bistro. You really can’t go wrong with a $10 brunch special :)

A special thank you to my friends who are always there–every year–without fail to support and walk for Breast Cancer! Thanks Ladies! <3 p="p">
