Friday Fitness Check In – Mindful Eating vs. Mindless Eating

I am starting a new series @ BAM called the Friday Fitness Check In! I am using this as a bit of a diary to keep my goals in check while sharing exactly what I am doing with you (since I get so many questions about it! :) Feel free to link up and do your own Friday Fitness Check In where you can keep track of the following:
  1. Fitness: Workouts for the week, how did I feel
  2. Food: Did I eat well? Let’s be honest shall we?
  3. Strength Training: Did I lift weights this week? How many reps and what exercises?
  4. Mind and Motivation: Where am I mentally? What motivated me this week?
  5. Weight: Have I lost weight this week? gained?
If you are participating, feel free to take all the images (linking the main image back here) and if you do let me know so I can link to you every Friday!

Sunday: Walked 6 miles to Make Strides Against Breast Cancer J
Monday: 45 min Spin class + extra 15 minutes on elliptical ~ I was all wound up I needed extra endorphins!
Wednesday: 50 minute spin
Thursday: Zumba
Friday:Zumba (I needed some extra Zumba this week, why not?!)

Since I did an extra 15 of cardio, I only had time to do:
Leg Press: 120lbs 2 sets of 12
Leg Extension: 50 lbs 2 sets of 12

Standing Chest Press 40lbs 2 sets of 10
Lat pull down 50 lbs 2 sets of 12
Rear Delt Row: 35 lbs 2 sets of 12
Leg Press: 120lb 2 sets of 10

Bent Over Row with 40lbs 2 sets of 10
Assisted Pull Ups 80lb resistance 2 sets of 12
Assisted Dips 80lb resistance 2 sets of 12
Abs: Situps, Crunches and Russian Twists w 14lb ball

Abs: Crunches & Situps

Side note: I haven’t done my abs in a while and when I got up to do one measly situp my abs screamed like I have never heard them scream before. I was always a little scared to really work on my abs since it took a long time to recover from my second c-section…but now that I am 10 months postpartum I think I am going to do an abs challenge for the month of November.

Thinking about doing a November abs challenge…let’s get the turkey before it gets us. Any takers?

What do you guys think?
This week was a hard one for me. I didn’t track my food, I was very non-chalant about my goals. I don’t know exactly where I stopped being so vigilant but I lost that weight loss fire a bit this week. There are no excuses really, it was just a really off week for me.

I hit my workouts daily which is usual for me, it’s the eating that is thrown off which brings me to…

I made some *seriously* bad eating decisions last week. I know hind sight is 20/20 but I really should have had the will and the understanding to know that I should *not* have been eating 2 cheeseburgers in a day when I went apple picking with my family. Instead of getting a side salad and a baked potato, I got “my usual” from Wendy’s (which was actually quite gross and I regretted it the moment I ate it).

I was snacking tons. Somewhere between lunch and me getting my kids is a very dangerous zone for snacking. I figured out that there are exactly 5-6 hours between my lunch and my dinner. No wonder I want to eat everything in sight! I think I have begun to handle the situation by eating something right before I get on the train.

I gained this week. *fights the air*

I gained .7 pounds this week.  Again, no excuses, bad food in means no good news on the scale. I also know that I have been concentrating on strength training heavily these past two weeks which is probably why those jeans I talked about a few weeks ago, feel even looser now. I’m not sure how that is possible but I am sure that is #winning.

This weekend is again a very hectic weekend, filled with a lot of social events and travelling. I will be more conscious of my choices and hopefully get back on that weight loss train next week!

How is your fitness going this week?
