Take a moment. Think about your celebrity crush. That person came to mind immediately right? I am thinking that person for you is maybe Idris, Ryan, Justin….Barack? Hey, not even the President is off limits here!
For me personally, that person is Dolvett Quince. My husband is fully aware of this crush and has no issue with it as long as it stays that way.:)
A few months ago I won a chance to talk to Dolvett via Google Hangout. Remember? I stalked hung out with Brandi from Diets In Review and she graciously reminded me to enter via Twitter and I won! I was going to meet my crush! Omg!!!
Fast forward to the day before my big meeting, I borrow my friend from IT to set me up because I was going to be at work when this happened. Good to be prepared right?
Wrong. Things would go terribly wrong. So so so wrong.
The day of the hangout I made sure I wore my favorite lipstick, a basic black and white get up because the lighting in the conference room is just so unforgiving!
I connected right away, my hangout was easily connected and I was live.
And just like that he was on the screen. (When you see my face there was a ton of insane cheesy grinning, my deepest apologies.)We got through the introductions, and even a few questions before it was finally time for me to ask my own personal celeb crush a question.
With my heart in my ears, I am so thankful I wrote my question out prior because I could hardly think.
I managed to ask my question and we moved on to the next person. Everything was going so smoothly. Seriously!
Until the laptop closed all applications and started shutting down. Since it was company property I knew I couldn’t connect from there again without a password. (Really laptop, you choose NOW to restart and install updates? *shakes fist*)
So I get 30 minutes with my crush and all of a sudden we are disconnected. What is a girl to do?
Improvise! That’s what!
I quickly grabbed my iPhone, logged in there faster than I have logged in anywhere in my life and got back on the call.
When I got back it wasn’t my turn for my question yet but, he referred to me as “my Brooklyn friend”. Yup. I would have done it all again just for that moment!
Of course my phone looked terrible, sounded even worse, but I was back.I could barely ask my second question because my phone service is awful in the office but I managed. See the video here!
The moral of your story…if you ever find yourself in a google hangout with your celebrity crush have another laptop, tablet, phone handy. Technology is a mutha!
The new season of Biggest Loser premieres on NBC in 2 weeks! Dolvett also has a book coming out and I can’t wait to get it.
