A Completely Inappropriate Time to Laugh

My toddler son (3.5) has been on a pretty terrible string of behavior lately.
He is constantly being put in timeout and getting in trouble over any and everything.
His latest way of driving me nuts is to simply pretend he doesn’t hear me when I ask him a question.
Gives me an EPIC Blank Stare when I ask him a question. 0___________0
Drives me nuts!
I remind myself that this is just a phase, and that we will be on the other side of this behavior one day.
The person that seems to be getting the most enjoyment out of all of this however, is his baby brother.
When the toddler is in timeout and usually screaming his head off in protest the baby (9 months) proceeds to giggle and giggle like it is the FUNNIEST thing in the world.

What’s even funnier is that the toddler thinks the baby is making fun of him and so the toddler starts to scream “leave me ALONE” to his brother.
IN WHICH the baby starts to laugh even more and scream back thinking they are playing some sort of screaming game.
Therefore leaving my husband and I in pure hysterics as we watch the baby scream at the toddler, the toddler scream at us, and a house full of insane chaos.
And I pretty much wouldn’t have it any other way.

Do you ever laugh when you are trying to discipline your kids?

OMG, we end up laughing all the time. Especially if Mr. C is trying to make a point to Zee but she ends up working her "logic" that just makes us want to crack up. And I'm not help, I'm always telling him, "now try and keep a straight face after that" and he ends up cracking up. I know it's something we're not "suppose" to do, but sometimes you just can't help it. Kids do the funniest things.

That does sound pretty funny! Nia makes us laugh all the time when disciplining her – we say it's a good thing God made kids so cute otherwise parents would destroy them. LOL!

  3. I don't have kids yet, but I have two nieces and a nephew. There have been plenty of moments that require discipline, but some of the stuff that comes out of their mouth or the things they do are pure comedy. Its hard sometimes NOT to laugh. I try to think of it as God saying, arelis you need a laugh, here you go :)

  4. That is pretty hysterical with the baby laughing and screaming and everyone laughing.

Yes we laugh in my house during punishment a lot! I sometimes have to run away or hide my face from my daughter so she doesn't see me laughing at her. When I tell her to go to the time out corner, she gives me a big pouty face and tells me, "Okay mommy, I'm sorry. I love you to the moon and back. No matter what. Even when you're angry with me." She plays on the cuteness. She knows she's cute and isn't afraid to use it for every drop it's worth. If I tell her it's not going to work, she gives up on me and turns the same pouty face on my husband…

  5. I do laugh. And sometimes i wonder if i am ever going to be serious when i see her smile. Your baby's smile is so cute and makes me laugh just looking at him :)
