So for a brief summary part one included lunch at Paula Deen’s The Lady and Sons Restaurant, Wet Willies and more! Today we start the Fitbloggin 14 with tears.
Lots of tears.
All provided by the wonderful folks at RunDisney! When I found out that the folks from RunDisney would be sponsoring lunch, I squealed in my cube. Only 2 weeks earlier I had made the decision to run the Enchanted 10k in February as a gift to myself, so the stars were certainly aligning in my favor. I mean, could the signs be any clearer?
So when the Disney folks came out to do their presentation to say was excited was a real understatement. I then they announced they had a special guest and it was Mickey Mouse… Like the actual character came out and I just about lost my mind. I was by far the loudest screaming adult… Something along the lines of “OH MYGAHHHDDDDDD MICKEYYYYY” I have absolutely no shame in my Disney character groupie ways.
Run Disney showed a series of videos highlighting the amazing programs they have available at the World Wide Sports Complex. Then they showed the videos of run Disney races, not that it mattered much because I was completely sold before I got there but there was one video that made me want to crawl under the table and ugly cry until I had no tears left. It is the incredible story of a little girl who completed a 5k despite her disability. Disney does it to me every time. (Watch at your own teary risk)
Plus check out the amazing bling that you get for completing a Run Disney race! I may or may not have held on a bit too tightly to the Enchanted 10k medal!
Afterwards, I was feeling incredibly wound up so I visited the hotel gym for some quality treadmill time. It was the perfect way to get away from everything and reboot. The hotel gym was so fancy, with cooling towels, full rack of weights and tons of machines!
I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention some of the amazing sponsors of Fitbloggin because without them, we wouldn’t be there! It was so great getting to know Chocolate Milk (more on them in Part 3!), California Almonds, Health Warrior, Ninja (stay tuned for an amazing review coming soon!), Run Disney and more!
Later on that night, it was finally time for the Ignite Presentations. I was especially invested because I had some siblings in my head (Andre and Allie) were presenting. This is what only children do, we adopt the people we love and make them siblings. Needless to say, they were simply amazing.
Andre started things off with an amazing rap about Fitbloggin (he actually shouted me out in the lyrics!) and Allie talked about her amazing journey and race in Spain and since I have been reading her entire story to see her share it in such a dynamic way had me crying profusely while laughing because of course she was telling the best jokes too.
After the presentation a group of us went to Tubby’s a local restaurant on the water. The food was good but the service… Slow! Which I quickly realized was theme in the south!
After we finished with our eats, we went to a club across the street to get our dance on. Unfortunately the DJ only played ratchet unknown southern rap and the crowd was entirely too young and scantily dressed. We spent 30 minutes in there before we retired for the night. Besides, I had a big day the next day I would be leading a discussion, teaching Zumba plus experiencing the best session of the conference!
