Tyler Perry Please Stop Playing With My Emotions

I am one of those chicks that HEART Madea movies.
I said it out loud.
I HEART MADEA MOVIES!!! (And all Tyler Perry Movies for that matter)
I know, I know. Butthey are funny, and they make me laugh, A LOT. Like gut busting, wowshefindsthatreallyfunny laughs. And most times, they make me cry, A LOT.

The church scene in “Diary of a Mad Black Woman”? Gets me every time.
The wedding in “Madea’s Family Reunion”? Bawling.org
However, last weekend I went to see Madea’s Witness Protection and I was really disappointed. It takes a lot for me to be disappointed!
It just wasn’t funny to me; I had to sit straight up to keep from dozing off.
Oh Well.
I am still a huge Tyler Perry fan and I gave him a chance to make up to me Saturday night when we rented Good Deeds.
This. Movie.
Hellur? Why didn’t yall tell me?!
It knocked all my socks off, got me a new pair and knocked those off too.
It was that good.
There was humor and a lot of emotion. I thought I knew exactly what this movie was about through the trailers but I was sooo wrong! It was amazing! Oscar worthy!
The message is just so deep.
Tyler, you win. I still heart you. Forever and ever and ever.

Have you guys seen any good movies lately?

I haven't seen good deeds yet, but I'll be looking out for it. I really don't watch many movies, and when I do it's usually something foreign in another language.

As for Tyler Perry, I have a love / hate with his movies–as some are good and some just rub me the wrong way. But eh, he cant please everyone all the time.

  2. I love Good Deeds. At first, I didn't know what to expect and really didn't want to see it but it really surprised me. Love the story line.

  3. I agree!! Good Deeds was so amazingly well written and produced. I really teared and it made me want to find a random family and bless their socks off. It was inspiring.

  4. Love, Love Tyler Perry movies. So those who judge you can simply judge me too… LOL. Now there have been some where I'm like "nah" I should have waited for DVD release, but overall I like his movies. Haven't seen his latest but I've read several reviews and they're not too good. I guess I'll be waiting on the Redbox release.

I love Tyler Perry! I'm a fan of his Madea movies too. They are funny but usually have a lesson to be learned. And I enjoyed Good Deeds too! I cried a little. I'm excited to see him playing Alex Cross this fall in the new James Patterson movie!! Are you going to see it?
