Last week I was invited to the amazing Chelsea Piers to talk about the new Danimals Greek Yogurt line from Dannon.
Chelsea Piers is a HUGE sports and recreation facility that is located on the west side of NYC. I rarely ever come here as a) it’s too far b) it’s kind of expensive and c) it’s too far. 🙂 However, I was excited to go because I haven’t been in a really long time and it was nice to be waterside as my most recent memories of large bodies of water include snow.
It was a really beautiful spring day in the city and the event would be held in the Mind Body Studio. The event was for moms AND their kids but since it was a weekday and I was running directly from work, I couldn’t bring my boys. They had arts and crafts set up for them as well as a complimentary basketball lesson at the facility.
Next we had a special guest appearance from Dr. Tanya Altmann. You may remember her from the Tylenol event that I attended last year. I adore her! I almost wish I lived in LA so that she could be MY pediatrician! As usual she was full of facts and answered many of our questions. Here are some of the facts she mentioned:
- Most elementary school kids need 30-40 grams of protein per day
- Try to use nut butter intead of cream cheese and regular butter on your kids whole grain bagel for breakfast
- Kids need 3 servings of dairy products a day for strong bones and a strong immune system
- You can use Danimals greek yogurt as a base for your smoothies
The Danimals Greek Yogurt tastes really good! I know that some people may not like Greek to Yogurt because of its tartness and texture, but the Danimals Greek Yogurt is actually smooth and not tart at all. Not to mention it has 10g of protein and no artifical flavors or colors. Considering that kids need 30-40 grams of protein a day, you can potentially take care of a third of their protein intake in one snack.
They gave us a gift bag which included yogurts in a very nice thermal bag, a gift certificate to Chelsea Piers and toys for the boys.
Today I am giving away a 4 pack to Danimals Greek Yogurt! Enter below to win!
