Food was a bit weird this week. It was a busy week for events and work. I ended up skipping a few meals and eating really late (after 8pm) on  a few days. I know that is a no no when it comes to weightloss but I was HONgry, mama had to eat.

I tried TOFU the other day and I was not impressed. Maybe I will try again but not any time soon.

There were some really bad choices and some really good ones, I really hope it all balances itself out. As I head to Charlotte this weekend for bloggy bootcamp, there will be no guarantees ;) (I’ve been dreaming about room service for a realllllly long time!)

Even with AF being here this week I still feel pretty good. I realized that I really need to be nicer to myself. The quote “you are your biggest enemy” surely applied to myself this week! I had such a hard time accepting the fact that I only worked out 3 times this week. Then I realized,  its ok.

In the weightloss world the emphasis is always on more more more, exercise until your legs fall off, do 300 squats, etc. I couldn’t do that this week. Period. I had a scheduled workout ready for Wednesday but unbeknownst to me I slept so badly the night before I could barely turn my neck to the right side much less workout.

It was okay though, yes I try to set a four time weekly workout minimum, it didn’t happen and it won’t always happen either. It was a weird week where blog life and career life overlapped and I threw a injury in there to make things interesting. Happy I got to do what I could and we shall see what happens next week…with no pressure of course. :)

It’s time for you to check IN! How are your food/fitness goals coming along this week? How do you manage injuries/unexpected things that throw you off your workout schedule?

  1. Welp, I lost the 3 pounds I had gained from eating too many cupcakes. LOL! The weight can off really fast with a few tweaks. Those cupcakes were totally worth it. Have a great bloggy booty camp! (no…wait)

  2. I’m glad you could cut yourself some slack. It is so great to be able to know the difference between being disciplined with yourself and just racking yourself over the coals for situations that are a bit out of our control. You do well most of the time and one workout will not unravel all of this hard work you’ve put in.
You’ll get back out there tear it up during your workouts like you normally do!

  4. I’m not a fan of tofu either. Sometimes weeks get crazy like that! Room service salivating, lol! Back to it next week. I don’t always make my 4 per week minimum either. I eat whenever I feel like it…my schedule is so all over the place 8:00 means nothing to my body!

    • The tofu texture is so weird. Yeah that makes sense because you have a work schedule that is off the chain.

  5. Week started out not so good….was in a slump, but I picked it up after hump day! You know my weight is all over the place…with in 2-3 pounds, I can not rely on the scale. I go by the mirror…I know a real tell tale sign right…lol. But somedays I am bloated as all out doors and some days my I look half way decent…it gets frustrating. I eat pretty good, not much meat, usually baked chix, and not much processed foods at all, loks of greens and fruits. My goal this week was to start P90x, I did and hate it, I am so not good with that type of work out. Have a great weekend and keep doing great!!

  6. When you’re consistent, a few mishaps won’t hurt. You’ll jump right back on track next week. My week was crazy too. my daughter performed in her school play yesterday and the few extra rehearsals this week threw me in a tail spin. I haven’t lost a pound…which I’ll take cause I haven’t gained any either. Enjoy your blog conference (bootcamp). Can’t wait to hear all about it.

  8. I’m happy to be working out again!!
I feel like I eat better when I’m working out – or maybe it’s just that I quit eating out of boredom because I’m busy again!!
Glad you are being nice to yourself!

    • I feel that way too! On rest days I am less focused on eating healthy (for example: the weekends!)

  9. Sorry about your neck pain! That is the worst. I get my migraines in the back of my neck and it is horrendous to deal with.

Have fun at bloggy bootcamp! Room service is awesome!

  10. I hate when you get that neck cramp from sleeping wrong!

This week went okay, especially considering I’ve been in FL all week for a vaca. I worked out hard one day…and then opted for walking the rest of the week. On Fri & Sat, I picked up my workouts at the gym to compensate and all vaca-bloat is gone.

    • Girl it was so painful! Nice, it usually takes me a long while to get back to normal after vacation.

  11. I had a bad week! I’m very naturally petite and I probably always will be, based on my frame. However I definitely have lingering baby weight that I expect to be here until I stop nursing. That’s what happened with my first. Either way, I’m not helping my cause with ice cream a lot. It’s that whole summer thing. Also, tofu isn’t that good! Sorry about your injury!

  12. Ok I have to say it, tofu is really good but it’s all about how you cook it. If you need some tips let me know, it took me about ten years of vegetarianism to figure it out but now I’m a pro!
