Bye Bye Baby Weight: Running on a Hamster Wheel

This is a bit of a transparent post for me. But I told yall I would keep it real with this baby weight stuff so here goes.
I have been having a hard time with the scale, I have been having some NSV’s up this point but those stopped shortly after I returned to work.
Yes, I have a lot on my plate literally and figuratively, yes there are a LOT of things going on. This should *not* be a deterrent to getting back where I want to be.
I suppose what I am saying is that I need to get back to basics.
I am not eating healthy.
I am working my tail off at the gym, getting stronger by the day, lifting heavier, pushing harder.
I read one time that weight-loss is 80% diet 20% fitness. If I am not taking an active step to better eating, then I am going to be stuck running in place for a very long time.
I am not eating a lot of takeout; I cut out the fast food ages ago.
I am however, eating bread and rice like it’s going out of production next month.
This needs to end, I am going to take small steps to reduce my carb intake this week and see if it makes a difference in the scale and my clothes.
I am no longer being crazy about getting this weight off in a certain time. I have thrown those dates right out of the window. Now this is for me, my health, my kids, and my husband and my wardrobe.
I adore this blog and the blogging world because I can see that I need correction in this area, it’s just finding the will inside of me to be strong and do what I need to do.
I still have around 12 pounds to go before I am at pre-pregnancy weight, but my first goal is 5 pounds.  Since I am on team small, my 5’3 frame reflects those 5 pounds pretty well. I also know that 5 pounds will indeed make my pants fit comfortably again. If it takes me 5 weeks or 5 months to drop those first five pounds I will be happy. I just want to make sure I am doing every last bit in my power to make it happen. I won’t sabotage my workouts by mindlessly eating. I will make a better effort.

That’s right for the first time in 3.5 months I did not attend the gym not once last week. Some of the days were on purpose some were not. However, my body must have needed the break because I am raring to go this week!
How are your fitness goals going, any tips for me to drop those first five?

  2. I feel your pain. We are in the same boat. LOL at eating bread like it's going out of production. I just wrote a post about being out on control. Right now I am at a loss but I will get it together sooner or later.

  3. Make sure you are drinking enough water, sometimes your body is retaining fluid because it isn't getting enough.
    I think it is great you are taking time off. Your body has to recover from all the exercise too!

    sounds Like you def needed a rest/break from the gym :) the only piece of advice for eating is I've have is it helps if one day a week (Sunday for my schedule) I take some time to get groceries/chop veggies/make soup etc then it's really easy to make my lunch every night for work the next day. Having lots of healthy easy to grab snacks is really convenient. If you make it easy to grab healthy stuff then you're more likely to eat it :) I feel your pain though, I have a bagel addiction I'm currently trying to break!!

  8. Well my fitness goals have been shot to heck. It's like I get the inspiration and then it just flies away. But! After reading/catching up to your blog (which has been super inspiring, BTW), I am going to start a new goal. Sadly, the only tip I really have is to make sure you drink lots of water, especially since that's the one thing you can never really do wrong. Good luck with your coming workouts!
