Has any one ever heard/used fiverr?
I don’t remember how I heard about this service originally but boy am I happy I did!
What is Fiverr?
Fiverr is a online marketplace chock full of services, quirky items and it is all mostly sold for $5.00. Sounds crazy right?
But it’s awesome!
I first tried Fiverr last September when I heard about the site. I decided to
gamble spend 5 dollars to create a new twitter background and a custom facebook header image. When I paid my five bucks I was rolling the dice–the reviews seemed great, the site was legit, but seriously what kind of quality would I get for $5.00?!
I was very pleasantly surprised. The graphic designer took the design way beyond what I thought it was going to be, it was fun, eye catching and she added a ton more detail than I had requested. She went to my blog to get a feel of my brand and turned out a really great product!
Right after that, I was obsessed. Ha! I started thinking of what ELSE do I need to do for five bucks? It almost felt as if I had the world at my disposal, if I could only think of it. (Unfortunately, there were no $5 gigs to come clean my house. Bummer.)
So recently I had an issue with my blog where I wanted to expand the dimensions on one of my layout options. I honestly had NO clue how to do that and the last time I messed with my code I literally broke my blog. So I decided to leave this one to the experts.
I reached out to my designer and she said that she had a $35 per hour charge– ok I respect that but my fear is that it would turn into a 3-4 hour job (how would I even measure that anyway?!) So I decided to go back to my Fiverr. I typed in “wordpress issue” in the search box and TONS of $5 gigs came up. I went with the highest rated seller, sent my request wrapped tightly in a wish and a prayer and hoped for the best.
It took two days, which is totally reasonable, and he delivered EXACTLY the dimensions I wanted, with a nifty video of how to manage the change going forward.
Beware: Some of the stuff on Fiverr is pretty crazy:
Technologically speaking there are some pretty talented design artists and wordpress experts at your disposal for 5 bucks.
I am a happy customer!
Have you ever tried Fiverr? What would YOU sell for $5?!
