Friday Fitness Check In: Feeling good

Welcome to the Friday Fitness Check In! I am using this as a bit of a fitness diary to keep my goals in check while sharing exactly what I am doing with you (since I get so many questions about it! :) Feel free to link up and do your own Friday Fitness Check In where you can keep track of the following:

 

  1. Fitness: Workouts for the week, how did I feel?
  2. Food: Did I eat well? Let’s be honest shall we?
  3. Strength Training: Did I lift weights this week? How many reps and what exercises?
  4. Mind and Motivation: Where am I mentally? What motivated me this week?

Food was pretty good this week, I pretty replicated what I ate last week to hopefully not mess with the weight loss trend my body has started. Lots of green vegetables (we went through two WHOLE tubs of organic salad last week), I limited my juice intake to one cup a day and there were no after dinner snacks with the exception of grapes.

I am having a bit of an issue at around 5pm, which is usually the time that I am picking up the kids after work. I have tried to eat fruit to hold me down until dinner but something about that time frame has me craving salt like crazy. I’m working on it!

I also gave in to a craving of a ham and cheese sandwich from one of my favorite delis, but it was gross and so not worth it.

Feeling pretty good this week, getting a lot more compliments than usual and that always lights a fire under me, because Lord knows doing this day after day, ignoring the food I really want to eat, and just being “on” in this weight loss progress is exhausting. Sometimes, I really say like dude–is all of it even paying off? Then I get a compliment. And I know its not all in my head.

I also tried on some of my #strugglepants and I added 3 more work pants to my every day use! This is very exciting because I have a lot of pre-preggo clothes and I am very happy I didn’t buy a ton of clothes in a new size.

WHY can’t I go to work in yoga pants?!

I didn’t weigh in this week because gold ole AF is here and I don’t mess with the scale when she is around.

And even though its still really, really cold outside I am looking forward to the days of spring, because no one loves to wear dresses more than this girl!

  1. I’m a dress fanatic too friend! That’s a lot of calories in Zumba, NICE! I love compliments. They always make us feel good about our hard work and dedication. Keeping those clothes around from pre-pregnancy days is motivation in itself. Keep up the good work.

  3. that fact that you are teaching Zumba is insanely amazing. I needed more rest than usual this week because of tough workouts. More sprint intervals on deck for the weekend.

  8. I’m checking in today because I wanted to see how I did over the weekend as well. Last week was an awesome week for me, Monday Zumba, Tuesday tredmill & upperbody, Wednesday Zumba, Thursday African Dance, Friday treadmill & arms. Okay, when Saturday and Sunday rolled around I lost my drive. I usually like to get up early int he mronign and bang out my workout on the weekends but this weekend I just didn’t want to see the gym. I had errands to run and an event so I just gave up. Then the eating wasn’t so good over the weekend. I’ll try to do better next weekend. But, I am getting into my workout routine during the week. Love it! Lots of dance makes me a happy gal. :-) Where do you teach Zumba, if you don’t mind sharing. I’d love to take a class one day. I’m a Zumba fanatic.
