Bye Bye Baby Weight: The Breakthrough

I had it in my mind to discuss the limitations that I have in the gym because of my second cesarean…but then I weighed in.
Can you guys believe that I lost 4.1 pounds this week?
*insert stunned face here*
I had a moment when I saw the number. After all these weeks of complaining/whining/obsessing I finally saw something that gave me hope. I know I need to be super patient but when you plan workouts for the weeks, go to the gym for 90 minutes at a time, eat as properly as you can, there is a bit of frustration that comes along with a gain or a no loss on the scale.
I need a magic fairy wand. *poof!* be gone 15 pounds!
So what changed this week? Glad you asked.
I thought these were all minor changes that I made but apparently my body decided they were major changes.

  • I started eating oatmeal for breakfast. I love oatmeal so I started preparing it for 2 days at a time, which helps a lot when you have a newborn. 60secs warm up in the microwave and you are good to go.
  • I started eating a big bowl of salad a day. To be specific I’m eating a really from a really huge container of 50/50 organic spinach mix (no extras) . I am also measuring exactly one teaspoon of salad dressing as I know it can get out of control quickly. One tbsp is nothing honestly, but I get every single drop!
Which made me think of this clip of The Cosby Show every time I ate dry salad this week:


  • I am extremely diligent with my fitness pal. I am logging every.single.thing. I had sort of fallen off the mfp regimen in the last couple weeks. But I realized that it holds you soo accountable. Before I reach for juice, there is a little voice saying is it worth it? What would MFP say? Ha.
  • Drinking 80oz of water daily.

Again, I don’t know if these changes made a difference or my body finally gave into all the work I’ve been putting in over the last 6 weeks. Either way, I am excited and I am going to continue these eating habits and ride this train for as long as possible.
Who knows, maybe I may be able to fit into more of my work clothes by the time I get back in 2 weeks. :)

Workouts this week:
Saturday: Spinning & Kettlebells
Monday: C25k Week 3 Day 1. Upper Body
Tuesday: 30 on the Arc 15 on the glider, chest and back
Wednesday: Zumba!
Thursday: C25k Week 3 Day 2  Legs

  5. Congratulations! Isn't it motivating when you finally start to see the number on the scale go down. Just stay at it. You are doing all the right things, so hopefully the next few pounds will melt away. Keep going!

    Oh, that was one of my FAVORITE episodes of the Cosby Show. Debbie Allen was epic in that episodes. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
