What I Did For My Birthday May Shock You

OK maybe it’s not that shocking.

I got the brilliant idea after trying to figure out how I was going to conquer my Fitness Bucket List. My birthday was rapidly approaching and I wanted to celebrate it, but how on earth would I combine the two? Then I got a genius idea, and made it happen.

I threw a pole dance party.

Yes I did.

Let’s start from the beginning shall we? The best in and I arrived to the studio, got everyone acquainted and it really wasn’t until this moment that I realized that most of the people that I keep close to me, know each other in some way. Even though they came from lots of different parts of my life, work friends, blog friends, family, there wasn’t one person there that knew no one. I think that helped set the mood for the entire night.

Our instructor

Our instructor was amazing. Her body? I have no words. I don’t even think my description could possibly give it justice. The first thing I noticed was her arms. Ripped. I have never seen arms like that in my life.

Then she took off her tee to reveal her back which was the most defined back on any woman person I have ever seen. Every single muscle was popping. I realized then that she was going to be REAL!

Class Begins!

IMG_1822

The 8 of us started class with a warm up that seemed light but it was like a mini workout! There were a lot of uh…suggestive poses, including getting on all fours and popping the booty. If anyone had any reservations they were quickly eliminated with the sexy warm up. I mean, whoa.

Time for the pole

Once the entire warm up was done we got up and started the real fun. We were taught how to walk around in a sexy way, how to slide down,  crawl, flip our hair (a la flashdance), we even got taught how to do a jump! By the time we were finished we had a full routine!

Can I tell you that my girls were fabulous?! Like amazing. I was in awe of them, all off that hotness in one room! The dim lights and short shorts definitely helped the situation :) I was quite surprised how naturally it came for some of my girls. I was like a proud mama.

IMG_1860At the very end, after we had learned and perfected our routine, the instructor put me in a chair in the front and I whooped and cheered as my girls gave me a SHOW! It was so awesome. Then they leaned on to  the wall as she put on Rihanna’s Birthday Cake, and I gave them a show of my own! *pop it pop it* lol! I had a lot of picture of the event, but 90% were completely inappropriate and may be used against my besties as blackmail. Just in case. I did find this pic though, it is super close to being sexy. Really.

Time to eat!

After working up an appetite we walked a block away to Tre Dici Steak. I changed into my birthday dress (of course, did you expect anything else?!) and it was time to eat!

We had amazing conversation and even better food. I am so so blessed to be surrounded by such strong, supportive and beautiful women. I don’t know where what I would be without them!

The entire night was beautiful and we all had a great time and bonded forever around our pole experience :).  And of course, there was the dress!
