Friday Fitness Check In: January Push

Welcome to the Friday Fitness Check In! 1. Fitness: Workouts for the week, how did I feel?
  2. Food: Did I eat well? Let’s be honest shall we?

I haven’t been tracking everything as I should but I’ve been making better decisions food wise. I’ve had a couple protein shakes for lunch which is one of my trouble spots eating wise. Everything in Times Square is remarkably expensive so the cheap route is the most traveled route except its not the healthiest route.

I’ve also been having so hard hard hard days at work and I comforted myself twice with my favorite meal (oxtail and rice and peas) but I only went over my points by 6-7 points each day not including activity.

I am still not eating my activity points and I am wondering if that is the cuprit for my slow weight loss? Any weight watchers users out there? Obviously I workout alot so I end up with 40-50 activity points tracked–but I never eat them–as a matter of fact I’ve never eaten them. I suppose I am a bit afraid of eating so much, if that makes any sense. I’m STILL trying to figure out the 5 small meals a day thing, but with my schedule, its a difficult task.

I love January and I hate January.

Why I love January: everyone is SO focused on fitness. The news, magazines everything is smacking you in the face with fitness related information–and I love it. As a fitness junkie I simply can get enough. I soak up all of this extra fitness attention like a sponge because I know by April flowers and spring trends will have overshadowed fitness. I plan on riding this train till the wheels fall off!

Why I hate January: I want my gym back to myself (horribly selfish I know) but seriously. I want it BACK. I actually had someone attempt to treat me like a newbie in my own gym.  I mean…is it April yet?

I’ve been really motivated to workout this week as more of my pants are fitting looser and better. I love that but there are some days when I just FEEL ginormous but I think AF might have a little to do with that.

How is your fitness going this week? Are you doing any sticking to your January goals?

I’ve been making progress with a fitness routine. Figured out the best time where the newborn sleeps little longer so I can work out. When I used to go to the gym, I remember I hated January’s in there. Seems like everyone new signs up. Of course by February it’s back to normal. .

  2. I am finally on board. I shouted you out on my last post. I have been eating healthier and working out. I am focusing on gradual change back into the lifestyle rather than jumping into 2 hour workouts 5 times a week. So far so good! I feel great. :-)

  3. lol – I love the way you describe wanting your gym back!!! Tough when you have to wait for a treadmill.. I am loving my cycling at the moment and lots of swimming too as it so so hot here, have to get up really early to exercise.

  5. mmmm rice & peas one of my fave dishes too! I know what you mean about wanting the gym back in Jan, it’s a little frustrating when you’re used to having a routine and pretty much can get in and out but have to wait and change everything because the gym is so busy. don’t worry, feb’s almost here and we all know most of the jan crowd won’t be sticking around!

  6. I know I’m late on this blog, but I have to tell you, you’ve inspired me. I have to start checking in every Friday, so i can get my fitness motivation and share with someone how my fitness week went. I’ve been trying to get on track for weeks now. I’m not really a gym junkie, but I’m a dnace class junkie. I’m always in an African Dance class or hip hop class. However I’m trying to incorporate the gym more. I’m also actually thinking about starting weight watchers again. Good to know someone else is on it.
