Hmm, so I saw these 21 Suggestions For Success on Pinterest the other day and I liked this a lot. These are some basic tidbits of everyday life–however there are some gems in here that I was touched by:
#5 Be forgiving of yourself and others: I know for a fact that I have trouble forgiving myself, I am so quick to forgive everyone because simply, its what Jesus would do. However, when it comes to myself I am terrible at this. I really should forgive myself as easily as I do others!
#13 Understand that happiness is not based on possessions, power, prestige, but on relationships with people you love and respect : I learned this quite late I think, right around the time I became a mother. I thought if I had the most name brand clothes, the better pay, the more “clout” then I was DOING something in life. Then I looked into my firstborn’s eyes and realized, THIS is what I am here for. To be a mother, to be a wife, a daughter, a friend. Seeing the tragedies every single day has a way of really showing you how much VALUE relationships carry. I can pretty much gaze into my children’s eyes all day, entertaining babble and long winded imaginative stories–this is what makes ME happy. Took me long enough to realize, but I’m glad I did.
#17 Be decisive even when it means that you may be wrong: How tough is this?! I want to be right ALL THE TIME, when I make decisions, I naturally think they are the right ones, but sometimes they are not. Sometimes, I ponder over things too much causing me more stress when I should have simply MADE the decision long ago! This is a great tool to take into 2013.
I’m still on the fence about how I feel about #1. 90% of happiness or misery is A LOT OF POWER!
Do you identify with any of these suggestions? Which ones?
